Very unusual buttoned armchair, circa 1860.  Extraordinary petal shaped form of high quality manufacture with gilt brass Cope castors and turned walnut legs. 
 
Discreet repair on the inside of one back leg.  Firm upholstery thoughout, generously sized, and very comfortable.
 
The brocade upholstery will be 1930s / 40s.  Lovely English country house armchair…
