Scottish Regency Library Chair in the manner of William Trotter.
Generously sized with remnants of original gilding on the sabre leg chamfers.
Original rails with later corner braces. The seat has been reupholstered with a buttoned finish. It should be plain webbed with a squab or cushion. The webs are lovely and tight and could be corrected without any drama.
Trotter made similar chairs for the Gladstone family seat of Fasque House in Aberdeenshire.
